The
Colonel is back, and as lovably eccentric as ever
... strong musicianship and songs that often seem
like Flannery O'Connor transported into a Zappa soundtrack
-- Creative Loafing
Hampton
has once again reinvented himself for a new generation's
taste in noodles and licks. "Give Thanks To Chank"
is an impressive record.
-- CD Universe
Most
of the tracks are undergirded by a vicious bass and
drum groove. Hampton's bluesy songs are riff-based,
but his solos, vocal delivery, and lyrics, set them
off into another universe altogether.
-- Home Grown Music
[Hampton's]
music is still as compelling as ever ... he offers
some uniquely blasted guitar soloing ... Caldwell's
songs are crisp, bordering on post-Sublime funk-pop
and balladry at times and working with an endearing
sweetness at others.
